No. As far as I'm concerned, the creators never "explained" the plot of RoR. But that's the main point of the game. The "psychological horror" factor in the game plays when you try to piece up the story itself by making theories using the material the game gives you. There's nothing fun about something being "psychological horror" if it doesn't forces you to use your mind, after all.
If you truly have problems understanding the story, then more "helpful" material to help you fully understand the story can be found in this Wikia and in the RoR Mysteries page (you can use "Wayback" to read the posts of the website, as it's no longer active).
Otherwise, I'd suggest playing the game again, just for its story. Rushing through the game (aside from obviously making you miss important stuff) won't allow you to understand the story at all. This is made worse due to the fact that Jennifer is not a "reliable" narrator to begin with due to her "self induced amnesia", and most of the things we experience in the game might not be "true" at all, but just her own memories playing with her mind and (for example) making her think that her stay in the Orphanage was way worse than it truly was in reality.
